Six Step Problem Solving

Is there an issue/challenge/situation you would like to improve?
This workshop will show you how to apply a proven six step method to break down complex problems and gain clarity about developing possible solutions.
The course will present you with a model to tap into the know-how of all individuals involved in the situation, develop consensus and gain commit-ment to improve your results.
It will also assist participants in explore innovative approaches that will help increase the number and quality of options that can be generated and create an implementation plan and review process

Strategic Planning

Strategic planning determines where the organization is going over the next few years, how it’s going to get there and how it’ll know if it got there or not.

We will start with a strategic review and analysis of the agency’s current environment. Our plan is to set up a system to obtain all staff input. Through a series of meetings, we will then assess our vision and mission and develop options and alternative actions to meet the upcoming envisioned future.

The product of the process will be a plan to use to set direction for goals and issues to focus on for the defined time period. It will also outline the programs and services the agency will provide and an action plan to address those issues.

Mastering Creativity and Innovation

Find out how to anticipate and overcome mental barriers to change and understand methods for securing buy-in for new initiatives.

You will explore proven tips and techniques for creating a work environment that encourages out-of-the-box thinking and risk taking.

Find out how to use “tried and true” formulas for eliciting new ideas and fostering a climate of innovation.

You will also practice using these creative thinking methods to generate ideas and apply them to improve your own specific systems, processes and products.

Building and Managing Highly Effective Teams

This workshop offers a process designed to increase the ability of established and new teams to work together by analyzing and building on its strengths, eliminating ineffective practices, and preparing a plan for sustained effectiveness.

By looking at each team member’s strengths and limitations you will get an accurate overall assessment of the team.

You will then be able to create a plan and build a team capitalizing on current strengths, reducing ineffective practices, and preparing a plan for ongoing team effectiveness.

Essentials of Managing Conflict

Become aware of the different “conflict modes” available to you and learn how to choose the mode that is most appropriate in each conflict situation you encounter.

Specific objectives are to help you become more aware of your own conflict style preferences and analyze its effectiveness in different situations.

You will also learn how to recognize and understand the conflict styles of others so that you can assess conflict situations and achieve agreement on how to respond to those challenges in the most productive way.

Peer Coaching for Results – Maximizing Your People Resources

Through Coaching for Results you will learn a method for assisting, encouraging and motivating other people with the aim of helping them achieve a desired goal or develop specific skills.

The process highlights what people can achieve, through peer coaching and mentoring support.

The course covers what kind of training is needed and how coaches/mentors will be matched. Ongoing peer-to-peer meetings will also be discussed, so that coaches are given adequate support and a clear roadmap for success.

Managing Organizational Change

This workshop looks at, what change means and why we need change. The identification and impact of strategic pressure points that facilitate and/or inhibit the process will be discussed.

Exploring how we can assess and increase change readiness and design a communication strategy are critical. We will also include how to identify and understand resistance as well as how we could deal with it.

Finally, we’ll discuss the role of the change leader and working with other change partners to develop the creation of an inclusive change management plan.

Increasing Interpersonal Skills for Enhancing Communication

How to improve speaking and listening are the two prime components of the course.

Learning how you can expand your use of questions will provide you with an invaluable tool to help you gather information, propose new ideas, reach agreement and initiate action.

Since listening is most complex, you will get a chance to assess your ability in this area and learn how to listen more effectively.

By using active and reflective listening as well as empathy and other listening tools you will become a more effective communicator.
